Walking Through the Valley

It is so easy when we go through hard times to start to think that God has forgotten us. This year has started out so hard for so many people. With the masses of bills that need to be paid, and many losing their jobs and their homes, it seems we are surrounded by sadness lately. There have also been entirely too many illnesses going around! My family has been sick so much this year it seems like we just can’t catch a break!

In the midst of all this I am reminded that God has not left me, He promises to NEVER leave or forsake His children! He is faithfully watching over us as the Good Shepherd that He is, making sure that everything in our lives will be turned around for our GOOD and His GLORY! There is always HOPE in JESUS!!!

Psalm 23

A Psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell
in the house of the LORD
Forever.

  1. I heard a wise minister recently say that when you have presecution, that's just hell's way of announcing your promotion.

    When Jesus said, "Let's go to the other side" they set out and it says that there was immediately a big storm. These guys were very experienced fisherman, with years spent on the water. They had most likely experienced their share of storms and yet, they were afraid, the storm was so fierce.

    The devil does not want us to get to the "other side" or our promotion, so he tries to trick and distract us with some problem or another.

    Stay focused on the Lord Jesus. He has everything under control. What He says goes. He says that He came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. He says give and it shall be given unto you. He says that even though we may have trials and problems, don't worry because He has conquered the world for us and defeated it of power to harm us. He says that He will always be with us, even to the end. He says that we are walking THRU the valley of the shadow of death, we're not setting up camp and building a city. He says He's even going to prepare a big feast for us in front of our enemies and honor us until our joy overflows! We're going to have goodness and mercy every single day and live in His kingdom forever!

    Our Lord Jesus is our Good Shepherd, just as you said Lucy and I am so happy that how loving and faithful He is in the midst of your own trials. Thank you for this beautiful reminder! ♥
    Love, Diane
